Meine Meinung:

"The Flatshare" hat mir ja schon sehr gut gefallen, deshalb habe ich direkt danach "The Switch" gelesen und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Diese Geschichte von Großmutter und Enkelin ist sehr einfühlsam geschrieben. Dennoch muss ich eine Trigger-Warnung aussprechen, weil Leenas Schwester Carla an Krebs gestorben ist, was die ganze Familie traumatisiert hat. Die Mutter von Leena und Carla wurde depressiv und Leena ist ein Workaholic mit Burnout. Daran kann auch der Wohnungstausch nicht sofort etwas ändern, aber im Laufe der Geschichte verarbeiten sie alle ihre Traumata. Nebenbei mischt Eileen in London das Jungvolk auf und Leena lernt in Yorkshire, dass alte Leute keineswegs langweilig sind, sondern Menschen, mit denen man befreundet sein und aufregende Dinge erleben kann.

Eileen ist knapp 80 Jahre alt und auch bei Leenas Erlebnissen geht es hauptsächlich um ihre Nachbarn im Seniorenalter. Deshalb passt dieses Buch in meine #Ü45_Protagonistinnen Challenge.
